Our Easy Baked Camemvert Recipe
How to Bake the Perfect Camemvert
(A show-stopping plant-based take on baked Camembert)
When it comes to hosting, few things rival the comfort and theatre of a baked Camembert — golden, molten, and gloriously shareable. Our Camemvert, the truffle-infused star of La Fauxmagerie’s collection, delivers all that indulgence without the dairy. It’s rich, aromatic, and designed to bake beautifully — making it the ultimate vegan alternative to baked Camembert.
Below, we’ll show you how to bake Camemvert to molten perfection, with simple upgrades that turn it from an easy appetiser into a centrepiece worthy of applause.
What You’ll Need
-
1 wheel of La Fauxmagerie Camemvert
-
A drizzle of olive oil
-
A few sprigs of fresh rosemary
-
Confit garlic cloves (or thinly sliced fresh garlic)
-
Optional: a handful of fresh or dried cranberries for a festive touch
-
Optional: ready-rolled puff pastry for a wrapped version
-
Crusty sourdough or crackers, to serve
The Classic Baked Camemvert
-
Preheat your oven to 150°C (fan).
-
Remove all packaging from your Camemvert and place it in a small, ovenproof ramekin or dish that fits snugly around the cheese.
-
Score the top lightly in a criss-cross pattern.
-
Drizzle with olive oil, tuck in a few rosemary sprigs, and nestle confit garlic (we find this works best for a rich, mellow flavour).
-
Optional: add a few cranberries for a pop of sweetness and colour.
-
Bake for 10–15 minutes, or until the centre is soft and yielding.
When baked, the truffle-infused centre becomes gloriously gooey while the white bloom rind keeps everything beautifully together.
For a Puff Pastry Upgrade
For a truly indulgent twist, wrap your Camemvert in puff pastry:
-
Follow the same prep as above (scored, seasoned, and drizzled).
-
Place the cheese in the centre of a sheet of puff pastry.
-
Fold the pastry neatly around it, sealing the edges.
-
Brush with plant-based milk for a golden finish.
-
Bake at 180°C for around 20–25 minutes, until crisp and golden.
Serve immediately with warm sourdough or crudités for dipping — and watch it disappear in minutes.
Our baked Camemvert is perfect for gatherings, cosy nights in, or as part of a cheeseboard. Pair it with a glass of sparkling wine, a tangy chutney, or roasted nuts for an effortlessly elegant appetiser that everyone (dairy-free or not) will love.
